As part of our commitment to the local community the Community Association has committed to making available a set amount of money each year for local causes. This year the board of trustees has made available 10% of the annual surplus of the income that the community centre generates. This means that £3,000 community funding is available to bid for.

Bids have a limit of up to £500, and there is a simple form to complete please ask for details. Higher amounts will be considered and you may be required to meet a trustee to discuss further. The board of trustees will consider your request and respond within 10 days of your application. In order to be considered your application must –

• Detail how the fund will be used to benefit the local community (i.e. improve the local area or provide a community activity) or yourself individually (i.e. to gain new skills, employment or improve wellbeing).
• Tell us what the fund will be spent on, and when it will be spent by. We may ask that we see evidence of these details.

We also ask that any successful applicant promotes the community association - social media and using marketing material that promotes the fund. This may include using your and/or details of your application and/or picture in published marketing materials.

Chairman-Parkinson's

The Oldham Branch of Parkinson's UK has been using the Primrose Centre since 2018 when the Link Centre closed for refurbishment. We have been made extremely welcome by the staff and Paul the volunteer and very quickly settled in . When the Link Centre was to re open, before knowing there was no suitable room, we consulted our members at a meeting and they were overwhelmingly in favour of staying at the Primrose Centre. I think that speaks volumes about the Primrose Centre and what it offers.

Peaceful Minds CIC

Peaceful Minds is a Community Interest Company that provides one to one Counselling , Art Therapy, Family Therapy and Anxiety Management Group Therapy sessions to members of the public. We have been providing this voluntary service since April 2019 with the help of The Primrose Centre who have graciously provided us with a room for free to deliver our sessions. The sessions were held 2 to 3 times a week on average and if additional hours were needed then the Centre would always accommodate. The staff are absolutely lovely and we hope to continue working with them for a prolonged period of time, therefore would highly recommend this venue to other services and service users.
