The Primrose Centre

The Primrose Bank Community Association is a not for profit charity based in the Coppice area of Oldham. We aim to provide opportunities for people to get involved with educational, health & well being courses, help with improving our neighbourhood and gaining new skills. We also organise events for people to meet new neighbours and get involved in loving where they live.

As a charity we have a board of Trustees who set the strategic direction of our charity, and oversee our work to make sure we are complaint with the appropriate regulations. We also have a group of charity members and volunteers who assist the board on a daily basis.

As part of our commitment to the local community we hold a Community Fund, where people can apply for small grants (up to £500) that aims to help people with their own aspirations or improve their local area. For more information about our community fund please click here.

Our charity also manages a local community centre – the Primrose Centre. The centre is where a lot of our activity is delivered from. The centre was built as part of the gateways to Oldham PFI partnership between Oldham Council, Inspiral Oldham LTD, Great Places Housing Association and Wates Construction. The centre can also accommodate private bookings and has excellent facilities. The centre is a significant contributor to our charities funds.

Andy Woods

Education Coordinator

The Primrose Centre is a modern venue in a great location and provides us with an excellent setting for the delivery of our adult community education programme. The staff are always extremely helpful and supportive of our range of activities

Chairman-Parkinson's

The Oldham Branch of Parkinson's UK has been using the Primrose Centre since 2018 when the Link Centre closed for refurbishment. We have been made extremely welcome by the staff and Paul the volunteer and very quickly settled in . When the Link Centre was to re open, before knowing there was no suitable room, we consulted our members at a meeting and they were overwhelmingly in favour of staying at the Primrose Centre. I think that speaks volumes about the Primrose Centre and what it offers.

Peaceful Minds CIC

Peaceful Minds is a Community Interest Company that provides one to one Counselling , Art Therapy, Family Therapy and Anxiety Management Group Therapy sessions to members of the public. We have been providing this voluntary service since April 2019 with the help of The Primrose Centre who have graciously provided us with a room for free to deliver our sessions. The sessions were held 2 to 3 times a week on average and if additional hours were needed then the Centre would always accommodate. The staff are absolutely lovely and we hope to continue working with them for a prolonged period of time, therefore would highly recommend this venue to other services and service users.
